Morning sickness or pregnancy-related nausea is common in the first trimester of pregnancy. For some women, the symptoms are intense in the morning and ease up over the course of the day. For most, however, nausea can strike at any time and last all day long.

Foods to Avoid

Be aware of the non-food triggers. Strong perfume scents or a car ride can trigger your nausea. Moreover, avoid odors that can make your queasiness worse.

If you are always vomiting and can’t keep any food down, it is likely that you could become dehydrated or malnourished. Contact your doctor immediately, especially if you feel dizzy or faint when standing. You need special medical attention if you have a very dark colored urine or high temperature of 100.4°F or above.
